Course Description:

Learn how to recognize and respond to human trafficking scenarios that could arise in the medical profession. This is a trauma informed and survivor reviewed course that provides a continuing education and course completion certificate.

This course has been approved by the State of Texas DHHS and meets the mandatory state requirement for licensing/re-licensure requirements for healthcare professionals.

Educational Objectives:

At course completion, the attendee will be able to:

  • Recognize and identify scenarios in which human trafficking may be occurring,
  • Understand the communications skills required to address potential trafficking victims,
  • Awareness of the sensitivities of victims and potential trigger points,
  • Contact emergency services and document trafficking in the healthcare setting,
  • Raise awareness and work with community leaders and programs to understand the services available to victims and survivors alike.
